Domestic Abuse Needs Assessment in Stockport
We have been commissioned to undertake Stockport's domestic abuse needs assessment and develop their new domestic abuse strategy. This will build on their previous needs assessment and strategy and will cover both safe accommodation and wider domestic abuse services.
A variety of datasets will be examined such as homelessness, housing options, social care, children’s services, Police, MARAC and from service providers particularly the specialist domestic abuse providers. We will also be undertaking an extensive consultation programme. This consultation programme will have at its heart gathering the views and opinions of survivors with their journeys being depicted covering a wide range of experiences resulting in the compilation of a number of journey maps.
The end results will be the compilation of the needs assessment, strategy and related implementation plan.
Domestic Abuse Needs Assessment in Sandwell
We have been commissioned to undertake a repeat of a needs assessment of domestic abuse in Sandwell and develop their new domestic abuse strategy. This will build on the previous needs assessment and strategy which we completed in 2021.
Again a range of datasets will be examined such as housing options, social care, children’s services, Police, MARAC and from service providers along with undertaking an extensive consultation programme. This consultation programme will have at its heart gathering the views and opinions of survivors with their journeys being depicted covering a wide range of experiences resulting in the compilation of a number of journey maps.
The end results will be the compilation of the needs assessment, strategy and related implementation plan.
System Readiness Assessment for Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Programmes in the West Midlands
We have been commissioned by the West Midlands Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner to undertake work assessing the readiness of stakeholders across the region to implement any new perpetrator programmes. This work is particularly relevant given the need to utilise any resources for programmes most effectively.
The review will work with stakeholders across all of the region's local authorities and Police Force areas to examine the suitability of current infrastructure and processes. We will also examine practice and models from elsewhere and assess a sample of recent cases to highlight common patterns. Current referral processes and service pathways will also be analysed.
We will make judgements on the current readiness to implement future programmes and pathways. Recommendations will be made on any possible adaptions that are required and we will also be providing advisory consultancy support as these recommendations are developed locally.
Evaluation of Shared Prosperity Fund Community and Place Pillar - Aston and Newtown (Birmingham) Neighbourhood Action Co-ordination Pilot
We have been commissioned by Birmingham City Council's Neighbourhood Development and Support Unit to undertake an evaluation of the Neighbourhood Action Co-ordination Pilot being instigated in Aston and Newtown. This is funded via the UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund.
This evaluation will examine the set-up process for this pilot and draw on lessons from the wider Neighbourhood Co-ordination work that has been in place in other parts of the city.
Development of Community Safety Community Resilience Framework for Birmingham
We have been commissioned by Birmingham City Council to develop further their community safety community resilience framework. This framework covers four themes (Place, Community, Individual and Family) and we will be building both an overall strategic partnership framework along with developing a locality or neighbourhood tool.
Developing this framework will involve working with local stakeholders including those within selected local communities along with examining current practice and resilience measures.
A&E/Emergency Department Assault Data Sharing (ARID)
Our data sharing programme between A&Es, community safety partnerships, public health and the police continues to be successful. The key element of our system is the inclusion of geographically coded street and licensed premises locations.
We have recently been re-commissioned to continue this programme in Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin with the service again due to be provided in Hereford. In Devon and Cornwall the ARID programme is in place across the peninsula and was funded in the previous two years by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner. From April 2023 the funding will revert back to the Tier 1 authorities across the area.
Part of the work in Devon and Cornwall has involved developing the approach at selected Minor Injuries Units. This has proved to be successful in many cases especially in Cornwall, where there is only 1 Emergency Department, with the collection of much valuable data.
Our service brochure reflects the different methods that this data sharing can take; focussing on our role as a single point of contact. These methods have been designed to incorporate the relevant fields from the Emergency Department Core Data Set.
We would be delighted to talk to you about how we can assist your area with this data exchange in your area either in A&E or Minor Injuries Units. Our work will mean you can meet the government's commitment to sharing of assault data. Our ARID programme forms a key part of our work either via a standalone installation or converting existing data into precise geographical and temporal intelligence.
